Hiro Kozato, Chief Executive Officer

Hiro Kozato founded Techwell and has served as the CEO since inception in 1997. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Kozato was President of Sigmax, a start-up company based in Silicon Valley developing CD-ROM controller chips. Sigmax was sold to Adaptec in 1996. From 1987 to 1994, Mr. Kozato was the Business Controller for Ricoh, a large Japanese electronics conglomerate, where he was responsible for Ricoh's US semiconductor business. Mr. Kozato started his career at Tomen, a large Japanese trading company. Mr. Kozato holds a B.S. in Mathematics from UC Santa Barbara.

Feng Kuo, Ph.D., Chief Technical Officer

Feng Kuo joined Techwell in 1998 and has served as the CTO since that time. From 1994 to 1996, Dr. Kuo was the VP of Engineering of Sigmax, a start-up company based in the Silicon Valley developing CD-ROM controller chips. Sigmax was sold to Adaptec in 1996. From 1991 to 1994, Dr. Kuo was a Product Manager at Seiko, where he designed a variety of analog and mixed signal semiconductors. Dr. Kuo started his career at Hypres, a superconductor IC Company. Dr. Kuo holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the Stony Brook University of New York.

 

Mark Voll, Chief Financial Officer

Mark Voll joined Techwell in November 2005 and has served as Chief Financial Officer since that time. Mr. Voll previously held the position of CFO with MoSys from March 1998 to June 2000 and from June 2002 to November 2005. From June 2000 to May 2002, he was CFO for Axis Systems. Since 1984, he has held executive positions in a number of Silicon Valley companies, including Lextel, Mountain Network Solutions, Unisil Corporation and Virtual Media. Mr. Voll holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Providence College in Rhode Island.

David Nam, VP Sales and Marketing

David Nam joined Techwell in January 2001 and has served as our VP Sales and Marketing since July 2005. From October 2002 to June 2005, Mr. Nam served as our Director of Sales and from January 2001 to February 2002 as our Field Applications Engineer Manager. Mr. Nam started his career at Samsung Electronics in Korea where he held applications engineering and strategic marketing positions. Mr. Nam holds a BSEE from KyoungPook National University in Korea. 

Joe Kamei, Vice President of Operations

Joe Kamei joined Techwell in 2000 and served as the Director of Manufacturing until his promotion in 2007 to Vice President of Operations. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Kamei was a Manager at Kanematsu USA, a Japanese general trading company. From 1991 to 1998, Mr. Kamei was an Engineering Manager at Ricoh. From 1980 to 1991, Mr. Kamei held several positions in Ricoh’s semiconductor manufacturing department. Mr. Kamei hold B.S of Precise Machinery Engineering from Tokyo University.

Tom Krause, Vice President of Business Development

Tom Krause joined Techwell in April 2004 and served as the Director of Business Development until his promotion in 2007 to Vice President of Business Development. From March 2002 to March 2004, Mr. Krause was an Associate at Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV). From July 2000 to February 2002, Mr. Krause was an Investment Banking Analyst at Robertson Stephens. Mr. Krause holds a. B.A in Economics from Princeton University.
