Techwell Announces Next Generation PCI Express DVR Solution for the CCTV Security Surveillance Market

TW6805 66MHz PCI Video Decoder with Audio and TS input support based on successful TW68xx PCI Video Decoder product family

SAN JOSE, Calif. (October 31, 2007) - Techwell, Inc. (Nasdaq:TWLL), a leading designer of mixed signal video semiconductor solutions for the security surveillance, automotive, and consumer electronics markets, today announced the release of the TW6805 66MHz PCI video decoder with audio and TS input support. In mass production today, the TW6805 is the next generation PC DVR solution based on Techwell's successful TW68xx PCI video decoder product family. Techwell will be demonstrating the TW6805 and other integrated security solutions at the 11th Annual China Public Security Expo Nov 1-4, 2007 located in the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center Booth Number: C001,C002,C131,C132.

Targeting PC Software Compression DVR applications, the TW6805 offers the most advanced video quality in the market today utilizing 10-bit ADCs and adaptive 4H comb filter. For far away security cameras and non-ideal environments the TW6805 offers superior weak and non-standard signal performance coupled with an impressive 66 MHz PCI Bus for faster and bigger PCI bus bandwidth. The 66 MHz PCI bus is a powerful feature in working with many PCI to PCI Express bridges available on the market as PCI Express solutions become more popular.

In addition to these advanced features, the TW6805 is capable of the fastest non-real time channel switching speed in the security industry due to fast video locking speed (more frames per second). This feature enables customers to use a single TW6805 to create 4 channel applications allowing considerable savings to PC DVR manufacturers by reducing their overall footprint to a 1 chip solution. Delivering the lowest power consumption and operating temperature amongst PCI Decoders, TW6805 promotes PC system stability and saves the cost of heat sinks. Other features include an integrated remote control receiver, integrated audio decoder for audio recording, and built in software piracy protection which saves on encoding IC costs.

- Integrated audio ADC for audio recording applications.
