Techwell Expands LCD Display Product Portfolio for Automotive Infotainment Market
Next generation TW8813 LCD controller with built-in LVDS panel interface targets front console displays
SAN JOSE, California (June 2, 2009) Telematics Conference 2009-Detroit, MI - Techwell, Inc. (Nasdaq:TWLL) , a leading designer of mixed signal video semiconductor solutions for the security surveillance, automotive, and consumer electronics markets, today announced the highly integrated TW8813 advanced LCD controller combining unparalleled video performance and flexibility for Automotive Infotainment applications including front console and rear seat entertainment (RSE) displays. Demonstrations of Techwell’s broad line of high performance TW88xx In-Car LCD display processors will be held at the company's 2009 Telematics Booth #84 & #85 located within the main exhibition hall of The Rock Financial Showplace, Novi MI.

The TW8813 is a highly integrated advanced LCD controller with a built-in LVDS panel interface offering improved EMI performance, the ability to drive video over longer distances with high quality, and the capability to directly support 720p panels. TW8813 has the ability to accept both analog and digital inputs, including single 24-bit digital input or dual 18-bit digital inputs as well as analog RGB, Composite and S-Video inputs. As a result, customers can leverage TW8813 across multiple platforms to directly display video and graphic content from a variety of devices including TV Tuners, DVD players, back-up cameras, DTV/DMB receivers and navigation/GPS receivers. In addition, TW8813 has a customizable 8-bit bit-mapped OSD that enables a vivid graphical user interface for both analog and digital panels as well as an integrated back-light controller to further reduce BOM cost.
The TW8813 directly targets applications such as navigation, entertainment and driver information systems which are driving the proliferation of in-car LCD displays in the automotive market. These displays are capable of displaying video and graphics signals from a variety of sources, including navigation systems, DVDs, game consoles, TV turners and camera
